What can I use to "mellow" a curry?

I've made a curry from a recipe (which is unlike me!) It's delicious, so I think it tastes the way it's supposed to, but for my taste it's a bit too sharp and citrusy. What would you do to mellow it down a bit? I don't want to use yoghurt because the heat level is just right. Any ideas?

You could sweeten it slightly by gently frying some garlic in butter for a few minutes and adding that.

Coconut milk? Sugar?

I put a spoonful of mango chutney in curries if they’re too acidic for me

Sugar , mango chutney

Has it got tomatoes in it? A squirt of tomato sauce, which is basically for a bit of sugar and won't affect the 'spiciness'.

Or a bit of a brown sauce with maybe tamarind in it?

It could need a dash of wine or balsamic. I wish I could taste it!

mango chutney, my MIL suggested this and she was right.

A spoonful of honey.

@AutumnCrow "It could need a dash of wine or balsamic. I wish I could taste it!"
So do I! I rang my neighbour who's usually up for this sort of thing, but she's out...

If it wasn't a curry I would have gone straight for ketchup, but for some reason I didn't think of it. But I think I'll try chutney and see what happens. Thank you all!!
