Yorkshire, by a mile.

However, I do think the same tea / teabag can taste a bit different in different parts of the country, due to the different water types.

SabbatWheel · 09/05/2024 21:29

All decent - Sainsburys Red Label decaff, Yorkshire, PG Tips, Tetleys
Crap piss water - Clipper (just doesn’t brew to any depth of colour).

RampantIvy · 09/05/2024 21:32

I have tried to like Rooibos, but every time I tasted it I iked it less than before.

I used to like PG Tips, but now that they no longer have pyramid shaped tea bags they have lost a lot of the taste. We currently have Yorkshire tea in the house.

Clipper tea is tasteless IMO.

CordylineCapybara · 09/05/2024 21:33

I used to have PG Tips but just switched to Yorkshire

They’re all awful. Sorry.
Taste weirdly like stale leaves (yes I know that’s what tea basically is but only the decaf tastes like that).

I know what you mean. Caffeine in tea is contained in a sort of wax on the surface of the leaf. To get rid of the caffeine you have to remove the wax / wash the leaf and that really impacts the flavour.

Thanks everyone, i think Yorkshire is the winner, I'll buy some of that. I have aldi just now and i think chewing the box would be tastier. I hate decaff tea but I'm trying to stop getting up 3 times a night to pee and the dr said caffeine irritates the bladder so i need to get used to minging decaff

Ringtons. It actually tastes like tea.

Ringtons. It's amazing.

GameOfJones · 09/05/2024 21:54

Definitely Yorkshire

LeroyJenkinssss · 09/05/2024 21:55

Rooibos. Go on try it!

SquigglePigs · 09/05/2024 21:55

Yorkshire was the only one we found to be worth drinking.

Hopefullymovinghouse · 09/05/2024 21:56

Do you like Earl Grey? The only decaf tea I could ever get on with is the Sainsbury Taste the difference decaf Earl Grey.

Wheredidallthecowboysgo · 09/05/2024 21:58

Twinings decaf is the best I’ve found.

HappyHedgehog247 · 09/05/2024 21:58

I really like Yorkshire tea but don't like the decaf one much at all. Of all the ones I have tried i like the Co-op. I go to the co-op especially for this!

HappyHolidai · 09/05/2024 22:01

Another vote for Waitrose own brand: quite strong.

But like others I mostly drink Rooibos tea (with milk) and various other fruit/herb concoctions.

VeraForever · 09/05/2024 22:02

M&S is great here, we're in SE.

GreenShady · 09/05/2024 22:02

M&S decaf Earl Grey. It's the best.

Coffeesnob11 · 09/05/2024 22:03

I have drunk Yorkshire decaff for years but there seems to be a shortage where I am, the shops haven't had any in for weeks so I just bought some waitrose own brand (no other decaff teabags in 4 supermarkets!) I will let you know how they are!

YorkNew · 09/05/2024 22:03

Try green tea.

iamsoshocked · 09/05/2024 22:04

Clipper organic non bleached decaf teabags.

Nelliemellie · 09/05/2024 22:05

I tried lidl Decaff tea and thought it was good enough when I couldn’t find Yorkshire.

Justleaveitblankthen · 09/05/2024 22:08

Having tried Yorkshire tea in my hotel room recently, I'm switching over.
Just hundreds of Tetleys to get through first 🙃

suki1964 · 09/05/2024 22:20

redboxer321 · 09/05/2024 21:10

Rooibos? I like TikTok and Dragonfly. Tetley and supermarket-own are rank imo.

Definitely TikTok

I never thought Id like "green tea" because those that I had tried in the past were revolting and I love this stuff. The fact its caffeine free is a bonus

AMinutesPeace · 09/05/2024 22:20

I am a tea fiend and switched to decaf a while ago. My favourite is Yorkshire decaf. I also like Waitrose Essentials decaf which is much cheaper.

Just make sure that you brew decaf tea for long enough, which is usually four minutes.

Galliano · 09/05/2024 22:27

Waitrose essentials for me too
Definitely worth sampling as if you do like it it's very cheap!

ichundich · 09/05/2024 22:34

I find Tetley quite good. PG Tips and Lidl I've thrown away several boxes of because they were awful.
