Help! Is this chicken ok to cook?

I’ve had this pack of raw chicken in the fridge a few days, use by date is tomorrow. Went to cook it and noticed it was slightly open at the corner.
The chicken is looking a bit yellow which I’ve never seen before, see pic attached

Is it safe? Has it gone bad because the corner was open?

It’s hard to see in the photo but the top of it definitely has a yellow tinge to it.

Does it smell and is it green ? I guess not or you would have mentioned it. Off chicken is a horrible smell! If it doesn't smell and isn't green i would cook it. Google says pale or yellow or green or grey chicken is not safe to eat so don't follow my advice to cook it.

I’ve smelled it, it doesn’t smell particularly good but then again I’m never sure how raw chicken is meant to smell.

You would know if it's unsafe to use. It would smell awful. If smells fine, I would use it.

I’ve erred on the side of caution and binned it, as I’ve never seen yellow on raw chicken before.
I kept sniffing it and very hard to describe but it did smell a bit dodgy in my opinion. Better safe than sorry

I think maybe because it was in the fridge for a week and the corner was open, that’s what caused it.

Better safe than sorry. If the smell seemed off, you've made the right decision.

The corn fed chickens are always a bit yellow but tbh if the package was open I’d have binned it too. I wouldn’t personally mess with chicken.

Raw chicken shouldn't really smell of anything. Sometimes there is a very faint chlorine-type tinge when you first open it, but other than that it shouldn't smell.

Was it corn fed chicken? It’s perfectly normal for tyem
to be a bit yellow tinged. If that was the case I wouldn’t be worried about the colour but I wouldn’t eat it either if I didn’t know when the pack had opened.

It looks ok to me. It should just smell like raw meat and not really unpleasant. Not be slimy or green looking and if you're not sure before cooking. Cooking it will tell you its off. Get your nose in it and smell a big lungful. If it doesn't offend your nose then it's probably alright.

Husband has never been good with off chicken. I once walked into the most rancid smell once when he was cooking chicken. It was a day of lessons for him Envy
