Just found this creepy crawly on my floor - what on earth is it??

Yep. Earwig. Easily identifiable by the 'forked tail' We used to call them forky tails when we were kids.

Completely harmless and can be chucked out the door after scooping her up with a piece of paper.

I have a family member who fell asleep on the sofa, woke up with a tickling sensation in her nostril, and you’ve guessed it… it was an earwig buried deep. We laughed, she didn’t. 😂😂

Totally harmless. Just scoop up and put it outside

Earwigs are very common and widespread across the UK, although you don't tend to see them much during the day, surprised any adult hasn't seen one before!

They like in damp places like woods where they live in and eat decaying leaves etc, perhaps you are you a city dweller where there is less of their preferred habitat?

Thanks all - yes city dweller and always lived in flats so although I’ve had to contend with spiders, mice etc never had the pleasure of one of these little beasties!
