I have M.E and spend a lot of time ‘having a rest’ with a podcast.

Can anyone recommend any podcasts similar to Redhanded, bad people and Mr Ballen?

True crime or general weirdness?

Thank you!

After Dark you might like

Hunting Warhead. I was gripped! Five minutes late to work because I couldn’t prise myself away. Fair warning though it’s about tracking down the people behind a child abuse site on the dark web.

The King Road Killings. It’s about the Idaho student murders. Very interesting and good journalism.

Gangster Presents Killing Death Row. BBC podcast that’s a deep dive into death row in America.

I was totally gripped by Believe in Magic. Carrie Jade does not exist is also very good and in a similar vein.

Ohh yes, Scamanda was so good- Amanda has cancer. And a secret. 😌
Radio Rental- mysterious, creepy weird or paranormal stories that happened to people
Deck Investigates- the woman from crime junkies investigates unsolved murder of a woman, very well made
Park Predators- mysterious deaths/ people going missing in national parks

Crime weekly with Stephanie Harlowe and Derreck Lavasser. I love their deep dives.

Completely different but beautiful anonymous is a fascinating podcast. Random call in and for 1 hour tell you about their lives.

SecondClassmyass · 09/05/2024 18:21

Oh and: To Live and Die in LA, especially season two, a very gripping story about woman gone missing on a highway in LA

They are my go night night podcast lol, so I think you def have to listen in the right setting. So in depth tho and it's my main "no chat" podcast

Whaleandsnail6 · 09/05/2024 18:33

Sweet bobby, hoaxed and crime junkie are favourites of mine

Ive also just really gotten into bad people

Jenacles · 09/05/2024 18:36

'The poisoners cabinet' is fantastic. Highly recommend it.

Time40 · 09/05/2024 18:48

No one's mentioned Uncanny yet! How can that be? (And all his others - Battersea Poltergeist, etc) There's a new series of Uncanny just started, too.

I second The Crossbow Killer. It's really chilling.

Real Survival Stories.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 09/05/2024 18:55

Also if you want something light but not dumb, Sentimental Garbage is worth a listen - people talking about their low brow cultural likes (books, TV, music). You may not have heard of all the guests but the standard of chat is excellent.

ThreeB · 09/05/2024 19:09

Dateline NBC
The Prosecutors
The Exorcist Files

MarjorieDanvers · 09/05/2024 19:54

Someone knows Something (the ones with Dave Ridgen)

deplorabelle · 09/05/2024 21:04

Tim harford cautionary tales. Though he does a lot of flogging other podcasts
