I’m about to go into a management role at work and I really want to be become a well-respected leader - my work is respected but there is so much more to being a good people manager. Would love any top tips/any recommendations of books that I should read to really start thinking about different management styles and high performing teams.

Congratulations! It's a great start you have the self awareness to read up.

Adam Grant does some great books as does Mathew Syed.

Good to great by Jim Collins.
Chimp Paradox (can't remember author just now)
The culture code by Daniel Coyle.

CMI might be worth a look

I don't hang my hat on them but personality tests such as MBTI, positive intelligence and SDI are great tools for finding out more about yourself.

Good luck!

Radical Candour by Kim Scott is worth a read

LinkedIn Learning has some good courses too if you have access to that

Turn the ship around by David Marquet.

Not your typical management book, and it's part autobiographical about a leiutenant leading a team in a submarine. Not really what I would have ever said was my type of book but has probably had the biggest impact on how I lead my team-which is about empowering others meaningfully. Would really recommend

Credibility by Kouzes and Posner
