“You’ve been thanked”…

What is this all about? I’ve been thanked for making posts on a few threads recently. Don’t understand what I’m being “thanked” for. Surely a like button would be more appropriate.

Many use it that way but it's still not an option on the iPhone app.

Well it just means someone agrees with you, doesn’t it? Or maybe someone’s getting piled on and you’ve stuck up for them. I think it’s because it creates more of a bullying vibe (not sure how else to describe it). When theres a particularly viscous thread and someone has written a particularly viscous reply, it probably feels horrendous for the op if a really nasty, unnecessary comment gets a lot of visible likes (which they tend to do). I could be wrong though 🤷🏼‍♀️
