Any hairdressers here on Mumsnet. I have a question

I am due to get a dye job blended more. I don't know what method my stylist will use. I presume it will likely be highlights. I don't know. The appointment is next week.

I currently have a semi permanent over my hair. Should I try fade this as much as possible from now til my appointment?
Or should notify my hairdresser straight away that I have a semi vivid in my hair so that could be factored into my appointment.
Or will they have a dye remover just in case they need it?

You should call the salon and tell them, in case the stylist wants to see you for a consultation/strand test ahead of time. Particularly if its a vivid and you are hoping to get rid of it. This is what we'd do at the salon where I work and I'd be dubious of a salon that didn't want to do a strand test before working over colour they didn't do.

I would just chat it over when you have the strand test. I wouldn’t touch a salon or person who doesn’t do this.
