Anyone bought pre-made platters of sandwiches? Is the quality good ? I can access M and S , Morrisons or Sainsbury’s . Hoping to get some for a family birthday celebration… need something that doesn’t require heating. Oven will be full with sausage rolls etc. Thanks.

M&S are v good but need to be ordered in advance

ImpishOrAdmirable · 07/05/2024 15:53

RomeoRivers · 07/05/2024 15:54

Costco platters are brilliant if you can get to one before then

PartnersInCrime · 07/05/2024 15:59

Would also say Marks. Ours has a "picnic selection" platter that has little sandwiches with various fillings, but obviously if you don't order it, you can't guarantee it will be on the shelf with the date you need it for.

Looks like this one...

However it’s really cheap and easy to do your own. You can even buy supermarket sandwich fillings like egg mayo to save doing all that.

M&S

Coastalcreeksider · 07/05/2024 16:13

Twice I've ordered M&S sandwich platters and they were really lovely. I do an afternoon tea for three friends during the summer so if the weather is good and I do another one this year, it will be M&S sandwich platter again.

GameOfJones · 07/05/2024 16:18

Costco are definitely the best if you can get to one but failing that, I've ordered sandwich platters from M&S and they've been good.

I've had M&S and Morrisons and honestly preferred Morrisons the M&S bread was a bit dry.

Decafflatteplease · 07/05/2024 16:21

Another vote for m and s

jackstini · 07/05/2024 16:27

Agree with pp Morrisons was better than M&S

Costco cookie platters and cakes though..! Grin

worcesterpear · 07/05/2024 16:29

A vote for Morrisons as their sandwiches are the best, they also do good fresh cream strawberry gateau to order if you are looking for dessert. M&S would be my second choice, then Sainsbury's.

Geranium1984 · 07/05/2024 16:30

I've ordered pret platters before and they're great if you've got one nearby

Yellowbrickroad77 · 07/05/2024 16:59

Morrisons gets ny vote. I guess it depends on your branch but ours were fantastic and they had plenty of choice. I've never had some from another shop though so can't compare

Morethantimeandmorethanlove · 07/05/2024 17:07

Thanks for all the ideas.

Morrisons are awesome. I don't shop there, but ALWAYS use their sandwich platters over anywhere else. Really fresh bread that is soft and not dry, and incredibly good value. All their food to order is great.

longdistanceclaraclara · 07/05/2024 18:26

Costco

crazycatladie · 07/05/2024 18:34

M and S the best in my experience, followed by Sainsbury then Morrisons.

Octaviathethird · 07/05/2024 18:34

Might just be where we live but the 3 times I've used Morrisons food to order, there has been no food available to collect, twice was for a buffet, once was for Christmas dinner! M&S have always been good.
