Which would you rather be alone in the woods with?

man. without a doubt

alloweraoway · 07/05/2024 15:54

but hasn't this been done to death recently?

ranchdressing · 07/05/2024 15:55

The point of this is that a bear might kill you because its their nature. A man might do all sorts of potentially worse things because they're sick and twisted - and it's better to die than be put through that.

I only heard about it today! 😂

I did a search on MN and couldn't see a thread. Apologies if it's been done to death already.

The most interesting thing about this experiment has been (some) men's responses to it.

In this respect, it worked.

Okay thanks I'll read that one as I thought it was fascinating. Feel free to abandon this one!

It's been all over TikTok with women asking their other halves (male) if they'd rather leave their daughter in the woods with a man or a bear.

0tterbythewater · 07/05/2024 16:05

I don't have too too sorry

Bear.

For the most part, a bear won't attack unless feeling threatened. A lot of places in America have bears and yet there's not that many bear attacks each year. The general advice, make a load of noise and the bears won't come near. Keep food on a bear can in a tree and don't leave open food around and you'll be fine.

On the flip side.
Well, men with bad intentions are plentiful and need very little to no excuse to attack.

Some men see a single woman and she automatically becomes a target and not just for attack or abuse, but they feel entitled to interject themselves into her day. They approach, chat, flirt etc.

Statistically men are many multiples more dangerous to a single woman than a wild bear.

Men get upset when that's pointed out...
Good. They should have a word with their mates and relatives and stop hanging out with shitheaps.

I'm a man and I think men are bad but bears are worse.
If I was choosing for my daughters I'd pick man.

NowThatYoureGone · 07/05/2024 16:52

I would take my chances with the bear.
If this is in a wood though, I've probably tripped over, broken my ankle and knocked myself already 😂

I'd only pick 'man' if I had to choose between that and a polar bear. Or a grizzly mother with cubs.

Otherwise, make a noise and they will avoid you rather than seek a confrontation. If it's a black bear I'd take my chances with the bear.

Guess that isn't the point of the exercise, though ...

Neither tbh!!!
