How to contact French mobile when that mobile and you are in the UK?

Help!

I’m trying to contact a French couple who emailed me their mobile number a few days ago before they left for UK. It is the only means of contacting them and I am meant to meet up with them later today.

However, I have now discovered that French mobile numbers only have 10 digits compared to our 11 digits!

Any ideas of how I might make this work? I’ve tried it with both French and UK prefixes - no joy!

You put the 00 33 then their number without the first zero.

Agree with this. Why is the number of digits an issue?

Phew! Managed it with 33 then missing the first 0.

I thought the number of digits would matter as usually 11 in this country. But anyway, all sorted now and I've managed to speak with them.
