The Holy Grail of kids suncream... please help

Is there one amazing sun cream I can get? Any suggestions please for one that fits the bill:

  • won't leave the kids feeling greasy/sticky
  • ideally an all-day one, they can put on in the morning before school and will broadly last all day
  • SPF 50 (they're very pale and prone to burning)
  • won't turn their white polo shirts yellow or green within a week

Anyone? Over the years we've tried:
PizBuin which is a great all-day one and not TOO sticky but definitely fails the white polo shirt test.
Ambre Solaire - not bad but no all-day options and pretty greasy, and smells quite strong (although I LOVE the smell but the DC don't)
Nivea - greasy, fails white polo shirt test
Lidl own brand - greasy, fails white polo shirt test, not an all day one
Soltan - fails on all levels except there's an all-day one

Please send help!

Altruist - get on Amazon it's super cheap and we ship it in (live in hot country).

Or if you want the really good stuff, Biore do a Japanese spf 50 which I use. Soaks into skin, doesn't smell. Pricey though.

Child’s Farm SPF50 is the only one my DS doesn’t react to. Sinks in quickly.

I use Altruist, great stuff.

Following as I'm on the hunt for the perfect cream that does not stain!

We were recommended the bioderma one which is expensive but get reckless and bought it. Only used it on the face on the weekend and was nice, not sure about staining yet.

P20 is much better if you put it on first thing, eat breakfast topless then put polo shirts on just before leaving 😁 I have ginger children and would say it's the only genuinely all day sun protection we've found.

I also recommend Ace bleach for the collars of the white polo shirts.

It's very much a double act.

Use Ultrasun sensitive spf50 all day its the lightest and only one found doesn't sting our eyes..
When in primary always reapplied at pick up or asked childminder too ..made my child wear /sleeve polo shirts too! As well as hats..

Redheads here so v pale .. dh uses p60 ok but you do have to let it dry no matter what they say . And we can only use on body as stings

Soltan effective but texture awful... Used that on arms etc as weekend so more time to soak in

Yet to find a cheaper one that lasts..

Have altruist to check out as recommended by many
..

This is good. DS burns very easily but applying this once per day even if he is sweating means he doesn’t burn. Also hypoallergenic. Can get it online.

My family always request NIVEA SUN Protect & Dry Touch Invisible Sun Spray SPF 50 - it’s expensive but very easy to apply and shouldn’t stain clothes.

CMOTDibbler · 07/05/2024 16:30

p20 - but you have to let it dry for at least 10 minutes before getting dressed. They do a specific facial one too now. I have the sort of skin that has given me sunburn while in weather that required a raincoat, and in p20 I can do a triathlon and still not burn

Well I find the Aldi suncream for kids 50+ the best for protection. I think you'll find it tough to find one that won't cause a slight stain .
White is a pain all round esp with kids lol
