I started feeling tired Wednesday and a minor cough I thought was hayfever.

Thursday felt like cold coming on but ok to work.

Friday sever sore through and earache. Came home from work and went to bed.

Saturday in bed all day, severe cough and lethargic fell unwell

I've been the same since and cough getting worse not better. Terrible rattly cough, sore chest and lethargic. I'm just in bed.

Did a Covid test and it was negative (but it was also expired in dec)

Could it be whooping cough?

I've not had the vaccine for whooping cough.

I just think it's bad flu type virus

I feel better now and just raging sore throat and hacking cough and dead in one ear but it's day 8!

I need to get back to work!!

I’ve had this since the 24th April. Never been ill for so long. I’m despairing.

My friend currently has whooping cough but without the whoop - caught from 2 of her dc, who did have the whoop. So could well be. She got antibiotics from the GP and is feeling better.

I still feel ill - my throat is fire. Cough a bit better. Back a work today and managed ok at least not in bed like I was last weekend

Day 10!

I can't believe it just a regular virus. I'm now convinced my throat is infected.

Gargle with a little bit of warm salty water. I do indeed that helps tremendously- I also use it when I have sore gums. 🌹

Have been following as have felt the same OP so I went for a pertussis swab as was keen to start antibiotics so I could get back to work - in the meanwhile my husband did a Covid LFT ( found it at the back of the cupboard….)
never seen it so positive.

I am pretty sure it was Covid.

I'm fine now. Still have a cough but other wise 90% recovered and back to normal
Activities

Still a muffled ear when I speak which is annoying.
