What do you drink in the morning if you don’t have tea or coffee?

I want to cut down on caffeine and I am thinking of giving up my morning cup of tea. I’m not keen on coffee anyway and only have one occasionally so I won’t miss that. I am wondering what I can have instead?

I don't drink tea or coffee. I often just drink water or juice or a hot chocolate (velvetiser) but not every day!

water

EasilyDeterred · 06/05/2024 22:00

Herbal tea (normally fennel)

Decaff tea. Sainsburys Red Label decaff, Yorkshire Gold decaff and PG Tips decaff are all decent. Avoid Clipper decaff, it’s piss water.

LittleFiendSusan · 06/05/2024 22:01

I stopped drinking caffeine first thing in the morning switching it for herbal teas or apple cider vinegar and honey in warm water.
I REALLY look forward to my coffee at lunch though Grin

Moier · 06/05/2024 22:02

Sainsburys decaff teabags or M&S decaff teabags.
Sometimes l just have hot water.

Simonjt · 06/05/2024 22:03

Water, or if its the weekend I sometimes have an alcohol free beer.

BendingSpoons · 06/05/2024 22:03

I just drink water but if you are used to a hot drink, I would switch to a herbal tea. I like mint tea personally.

Water

Whatsnormalhere · 06/05/2024 22:05

Water, once you get used to it - can’t beat it!

Radicaloptimism · 06/05/2024 22:08

I drink water in the daytime and nothing else as I don’t particularly like soft drinks. It’s the morning cup of tea I will miss and I like the ritual of getting up and making a cup of tea and taking it back to bed for half an hour!

Agreed. M&S decaf tea all the way

Muchtoomuchtodo · 06/05/2024 22:15

I have orange juice.

if you’re after a hot drink, what’s wrong with decaf tea?

DrJoanAllenby · 06/05/2024 22:20

Hot chocolate or pineapple juice mostly.

In the summer I might have apple or pear or cranberry or raspberry juice.

If I'm out or away I have an iced coffee.

Radicaloptimism · 06/05/2024 22:21

I can try decaf tea. I assume it tastes the same.

Hot water with a slice of lemon

PauliesWalnuts · 06/05/2024 22:24

Vimto. I don’t like the taste of hot drinks.

Maddy70 · 06/05/2024 22:25

Decaf coffee or green tea

Cacaoaddict · 06/05/2024 22:27

Cacao. It’s been a massive game changer for me. I’ve stopped drinking coffee altogether and have cacao in the morning. The pure ground bean not the Cadbury’s hot chocolate thing 😁

it’s full of Estogen and magnesium.it’s got got natural caffine in so can’t drink it after 3pm No PMS or hot sweats which were creeping in.

Copperoliverbear · 06/05/2024 22:28

Water, squash, smoothies x

dreadisabaddog · 06/05/2024 22:31

Diet Coke with lime. That's prob worse

welshycake · 06/05/2024 22:32

Lemon in hot water with a pinch of paprika

Rumplemunchkin · 06/05/2024 22:37

I’ve never drank tea or coffee in the morning. I just don’t like it and never understand people who continually drink it during the day, my mum was one of these people who thought “a cuppa” sorted the world. Bleugh!

I’m never really thirsty in the morning and if I am I drink water, I’m boring I suppose. In winter I sometimes drink hot water with lemon or have the occasional herbal rose tea. I’m not a fan of hot drinks tbh.

Keepingongoing · 07/05/2024 08:55

I have rooibos tea for my morning cuppa - it tastes quite similar to real tea so I get the same lift from it. You can have it with or without milk.

Feels like it has more body to it than other herb teas.

TheTigerWhoCameToEatMyHusband · 07/05/2024 08:57

I have a pint of vodka
