Toxic Next Door have cctv camera pointing into my garden

I will google shortly for a definitive answer.

We have a very poor relationship with our next door neighbours (their child raged physiological warfare on mine for months - the child is pure evil) it all came to a head and now we never speak and I mean never speak - they ignore us we ignore them.

The mother is an inexcusable human being and quite a nasty aggressive piece of shit, one day was screaming abuse as I got out of my car (calling me a fat cunt and a whore and threatening to bash my car in) she only stopped when I very loudly said she she was being recorded on the ring..

Anyway I was pottering down the garden (we have a post and rail fence to separate us) to measure for a summer house and I looked over (as their dogs which do nothing but bloody bark were barking and growling at me) and saw they have a cctv camera pointing into our garden, near to the kids paddling pool (yes I know it needs emptying and cleaning)

My quandary is what the fuck do I do?

I can’t afford to fence the area at the moment, even if I don’t buy the second hand summer house from Facebook. Can’t afford to move for another year…

I may (once I’ve checked the legalities of it) speak to a solicitor and get them to write a letter? I’ve checked our home insurance and have legal cover..but I am not sure they would cover it

Do I report to the police and send the ring footage to them? No way on this planet do I want to speak to them…

They're filming your kids in the paddling pool? Why?

If you're planning on moving anyway I'd seriously consider keeping my mouth shut. You have to disclose conflicts with neighbours when you sell your house, so you might make it harder to move if you formalise this. The cameras could well be dummies too, that don't actually film anything.

I wouldn’t go to the police either if you’re planning on moving. Can you get a gazebo/tent/pergola type thing over the pool assuming it can’t be moved? They could well be just as pissed off thinking you can see and hear them out the front.

@ovals our ring camera covers our front only, she’s the one who saw me get out of my car and verbally abused and threatened me..at my front door not the other way around, she’s absolutely vile

It definitely works as it’s the same as they have at their front door.

It’s around half way down their garden and it points directly into my garden where our paddling pool is, if that makes sense, I guess we could move the pool but I am not sure where else it could go.

I am just not sure I am comfortable with them recording my garden which my children (admittedly won’t use due to them)

I will look into closing ‘their’ view off so to speak.

I am going to speak to a solicitor next week sometime. Just to see what I can do about it.
