LA hotels plus coast hotel

I have 5 nights in California next April. Three nights near universal/ Hollywood

Then the other two not so sure. Getting cruise from long beach and would like a beachy sea front vibe.

Just for walks and food - it won't be warm enough for sunbathing we are aware.

I've looked at Redondo, hermosa, manhattan and Huntingdon

We won't have a car so rules out Santa Barbara /Malibu

Are these worth it?

I haven’t been, but I’m going later this year - we’re getting the train between LA and Santa Barbara, so you don’t need to rule that out on the basis of not having a car.

It’s years since we went, but we stayed at the Beverley Hilton and Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica which had the best bed I’ve ever slept in
