Simply that.
I've been given the gel. 1 pump a day. Wondered if you notice a change in how you feel, how quickly your sleep improves, sweats, etc. Basically what are your experiences please.
One friend said it was instant.... I'm not feeling a new woman yet😉

It was almost instant for me, too. If not a new woman I was a much improved one within a week.

One pump is very low, the normal starting dose is two.

Try increasing it and see how you feel.

Increase the dose to 2 per day. You'll feel better within a week, but it can be quite a subtle change.

You suddenly realised you haven't felt ratty or tearful for ages, that's when you know it's working.

I started on two pumps and it was revelatory for me. Aches and pains gone, night sweats stopped and rage subsided. After around 6 months, I began to get some symptoms again and have been on 3 pumps for over a year. I agree with PP that one pump is a very low starting dose.

I started on one, and have only added an extra half every now and then with the odd bottle that seemed less than strong. I've never needed two. I felt better immediately, although I did get very, very, painful boobs for a few months before it settled down.

Oh, and that starting dose was suggested by a menopause specialist..... She said you know your own body, start with one and if needed increase.

ladybirdsanchez · 06/05/2024 14:28

I started on two pumps a day. I felt the effect after about 36 hours. I woke up and I didn't ache like an old woman. It was like a miracle!

DustyLee123 · 06/05/2024 14:30

I’m sure two pumps is the starting dose 🤔
I think it took a month or so to see the changes in myself, but I started spotting after 3 days, so I suppose that’s how long it took my body to notice,

It's worth saying that some individuals don't absorb the oestrogen well from the gel. That's been my experience. I've returned to patches as they are absorbed better on my skin.

Interesting to hear the Normal dose is 2 pumps. Mine was prescribed by a consultant who suggested he thought I might only need it for fits and starts rather than continuously ( that world warp my already muddled mind). I'll give it a week or so then ask if I should increase. Thanks x

So the joint aches are peri too? i didn't know this. I thought it was just a result if having got out of condition. I'm not going for magic.
I was having no sleep, seats, radical hair loss, snappiness and just overwhelm. What else does it cause.

Do we take it forever or so and it all comes back after a few years?

Yes, it works on joint aches. It was the main reason I asked to go on HRT actually. The joint pains eased off within the first week.
