Incinerators in school loos .

Anyone remember them?
I was in secondary from 1982 and there was one on the main block toilet wall. I was too scared to even go into the loos but the incinerator still baffles me. Really did teenage girls use them and how did they even work? They sounded horrific back then but I've never heard them talked about.

I remember the deputy head at primary school taking groups of girls to the toilets and demonstrating how it worked (1970s). Very nice of her, but at the time I didn't have a clue what was supposed to be going in it!
And yes we had them at secondary. I remember them occasionally rumbling away. Mostly though we just tried to set them alight.

There was one in our secondary school loos. Don't how it worked - it was just a small metal door thing that hinged at the bottom, and none of the workings behind were visible.

Oooh I'd forgotten all about these.

I don't think my school had one but the public toilet nearby did.

Yes there was also one in our secondary school toilets but I never really figured out what it did!

Bunny incinerators! The name makes it even worse. I don’t recall the one at our school even working.

My school in theb90's had one on the wall but it didn't work any more. I was always a bit baffled by it.

Oh my school had one but I didn’t dare use it!! Not sure if it even worked to be honest.

My primary school in the 80s had one in one of the girls' toilets.
