The Swallows Have Arrived

DH and I were just talking last night about not having spotted the swallows yet this year and thinking that it was a bad sign. We spotted them this evening at around 7pm on what has been the warmest day so far this year in the NW. We watch for them arriving each year.

We're in NE England. We've had swallows and martins for a few weeks, and we saw our first swifts today 😍

It's so lovely to see them.
We normally get them round the 10th April, so they seem very late arriving this year.

ONE SWALLOW DOES NOT MAKE A SUMMER!

I love seeing the first swallows and think about the incredible journeys they’ve made.

I am in the NW, on the Pennines, usually they arrive around the 19th of April , they came last week. They are busy, busy, nest building.

Not quite the same, but we saw our first bat this evening (South-East London)!

I miss the bats, we used to see them on a summer evening, but sadly no more :(
