Diagnose me

Any suggestions what might be wrong with me please. I do plan to go to the GP about this but wanted your thoughts.
I am late fifties, around three stone overweight. Generally reasonably healthy apart from this problem. I work in a full time job which is demanding and tiring but I don't feel accounts for how awful I often feel. I am five years post menopause, no HRT or anything.
I would say two thirds of the time I feel ok, maybe a bit tired. The other third of the time I get spells of 2 - 5 days where I am extraordinarily fatigued to the point that my body hurts, I get aches and pains throughout my body, brain fog, feel almost like I might pass out sometimes, feels like I am going down with flu kind of ill feeling. Body ache and pain interferes with sleep despite the overwhelming fatigue. I can just about get through my working day then have to go to bed in the evening. Any days off, when I feel like this, I can barely function and have to do the bare minimum and rest. This can last a few days then I go back to feeling ok-ish again, and repeat. This has been happening for a couple of years (yes I know I should have gone to the GP by now).
Any thoughts please.

Diabetes?

ShinyBandana · 04/05/2024 15:09

Sorry that was a bit blunt.

what I should have said was get yourself to the GP , as planned, and get some blood tests

You need bloods done.

Iron
B12
Thyroid

Too many options, can't say without the blood test results but there are several common possibilities.

Could be some thing as simple as anaemia. Do you take vitamin D supplements?

Greenturaco22 · 04/05/2024 16:59

I do take vitamin d supplement, and magnesium
