Games: Scotland Yard Jr / Shhh, don’t wake dad / Silly sausage

I am looking to pick up a new game for our 4 1/2 year old for the holiday weekend. We already have loads of orchard toys (almost all of them!) which are played with lots, other favourites are smart games three little pigs, little red riding hood, mr bucket, floor is lava, connect four, boggle, buckaroo and junior monopoly are all favourites.

Does anyone rate shhh, don’t wake dad!, Scotland yard jr or silly sausage (too young for bop it)?

we are looking for something to add to our easy / not to long to play games with our four year old that our younger one can also joint in with when they’re a bit bigger.

We also already have a few versions of Dobble, Uno, elc version of ker plunk, hungry hippos, guess who, perfection, sleeping queens, bananagrams, jenga and boggle.

She has suspected ASD & we are going through the ASD assessment process at the moment. A game and some stories seems to be a pretty successful formula for regulating her after nursery at the moment which is why we have so many / play so many games!

We have Scotland Yard Junior, it’s been a favourite of my kids since they were 3 and 5. Still played with lots now at 8 and 10!

Thank you - that’s great to hear. I think I’ll pick it up today as we have a similar age gap. I just wasn’t sure as some online reviews had said that it’s boring.

I reccomend the card game
“taco, cat, goat, cheese, pizza”
so simple to play, cheap and small.
yet everyone loves it and it gets competitive.
my 4yo can follow the rules and play it.

also Zingo is a big hit for us

Thank you. “Taco, cat, goat, cheese, pizza” looks great for taking on trips! Will definitely pick that up.

@GiantPuffaJacket thank you for the Zingo recommendation. We ended up coming across one on clearance yesterday & it has been such a hit!

We have got silly sausage which got a few laughs from the adults at Christmas as it looks a bit dodgy!

I would also recommend thinkfun rush hour / rush hour junior if they like the smart fun games.

I am always on the lookout for game / activity recommendations.

@Nanasmummy thank you - rush hour also looks right up their street. Thanks so much.
