Can you get a (modern) clock repaired?

Got a big clock just over 10 years ago (Newgate Battersby) and it keeps stopping/ showing the wrong time no matter what batteries we put. It's over £100 to buy new!

The clock repair places I've googled seem to be for antique clocks and watches - would they mend one like this that has one of those bog-standard square mechanisms on the back (with one AA battery)?

Can you buy the mechanism ? Perhaps it's easy to do .

We did it! Took it apart to find out what sort of mechanism it needed, ordered one online and fixed it...
