What would you do - same user commenting on all my threads

The same user comments on many of my threads. I don’t want to give any more details than that as I am under one of my previous usernames here.

Their comments usually have a bit of a scathing/patronising tone and always have to bring to attention sometimes unrelated details I have brought up in other threads, almost as if they have in some way triumphed. I don’t understand it nor do I quite see how they’re managing to click on each thread I post unless they are regularly searching by username. They must have a lot of time on their hands.

I’d like to keep using the same username if I can, rather than change it again. I also would not put it past this person to work out the name change was me.

Is there a way to block them so they do not see my posts?

It might be worth reporting your thread and ask MNHQ this question?

Unfortunately that's just the nature of being able to post anonymously online.

I notice a few users who comment regularly on so many different threads with a nasty patronising tone.

It's probably not that they're seeking out your threads in particular, just that they comment on so many that a lot happen to be yours.

I imagine they are very unhappy with their lives.

Maybe you could report it. I don’t know to what extent MNHQ permit this or if it would be seen as personal attack or troublemaking.

are you sure they are not doing it to many posters?

I’m not sure tbh if they do it to anyone else or not. But it’s a good point. Maybe it isn’t as personal as I have taken it

I don’t think there is a function for blocking one user @ThinkingTeetotal. Is the poster using the same user name all the time?

I name change a lot to avoid this sort of thing- I had a poster follow me about from thread to thread for a while… but then I end up getting accused of being a troll because people search my name and see it’s relatively new.

Name change - it's not worth being harassed for the sake of a username.
