Hamilton London seating question (boxes)

Looking to book this up and am getting rather confused.

Tempted by Matcham box which looks to be good value (around £70 per ticket which is my budget). Seems there are 4 chairs & you get a butler and your own loo, which seems great value. However, there are only two of us. Does that mean they can sell the other two seats? However, even though it states it seats 4, I can only ever see the option to purchase 2 tickets on any given date (I've looked way into the future too) so it's not as though someone has already booked the other two seats. Also, does it mean we can invite another 2 people along for the same price if we wish? Really confused! Google not helpful so will give them a ring unless any of you wise people have any idea?

Think I must be a bit dim! 🤣

Thanks!

We were in a four seater box for Hamilton, not the Matcham one though, the Victoria box. We didn't have a butler. In our case, yes, the seats were sold separately so me and DS shared the box with two others.

Just to add when it says limited view, it is true, you can only see people's feet when they are standing on the balcony at the back, which is why the price is more reasonable. I had already seen the show once, and also on Disney, so I didn't mind that.

Thank you. It's really weird that I can't see 4 box seats anywhere, only in pairs. Are they side by side or behind each other on the plan? Thanks again.

If you can get the royal circle box A B C or D, they seat two and are fabulous!
Slightly restricted view as you are on one side, but you can shift chairs to suit.
I've been a few times in different boxes, and could not choose a favourite. No private toilet but you can get in and out very quickly to beat the queue to the main loos. Very good value for a taste of real luxury.

In the four seater boxes, they definitely can see the other two seats, and if you are in the stalls, it is nice and private but right at the back.

I'm looking at the seat plan and the boxes show four seats to me, next to each other - but you are right that two seats seem to be unavailable in the Matcham box on every day that I have looked at, I don't know why.

In practice, the seats are moveable chairs, not fixed like in the stalls so you can move them to wherever you want them in the box.

Completely agree! I had one of these boxes, I forget which, and it was wonderful having our own little room. Lots of space and so much better being able to get out ahead of the crowds.

cossette · 03/05/2024 14:58

Had the Matcham box and booked 2 seats. 2 others had the other seats but it was fine. View was excellent - but just missed the very top of the set. Private loo, coat hooks, plenty of room and a butler shared between us and the other couple. Would definitely book the same again!

Yes, it's very odd. Plus they are situated at the end of rows on the aisle. Can't quite visualise and can't find any photos online.

This is the Victoria box looking out over the stage, if it helps. I think you can see one of the "end of aisle" boxes below and to the right?

And this is what it looks like in the box

In terms of the loos being a bonus I'm sure they are, but since being renovated the Victoria Palace theatre has a reasonable number of women's loos, far more than any other I've been to anyway.

Best picture I've got of the Matcham Box

I just tried a random Sat night in Dec and it let me pick all 4 seats in the Matcham box.

hildaogden99 · 03/05/2024 20:12

I'm so confused! So those seats at the end of the aisles in the grand circle in the attached image (pale/dark blue) are matcham boxes? They are according to the key, but I'm not sure and seems a strange location for boxes🙄

Ah I see where you are going wrong I think! Where it says Matcham box, that is the Matcham box, those four blue dots, it isn’t a key, that is where the box is, at the back of the circle. I think that’s right?

SilverSimca · 03/05/2024 20:36

The blue just indicates the price

hildaogden99 · 03/05/2024 21:51

But why are the seats at the end of the rows light/dark blue as per the box?

OP posts:
SilverSimca · 03/05/2024 22:15

Because they cost £72.50, I think

PenguinLove1 · 03/05/2024 22:51

Every price bracket is assigned a colour, so every seat that costs the same price will be that colour, it doesn't mean every blue seat that colour is in the Matcham box

The tickets you mean are the four blue dots in a row immediately after the matcham box writing

The front row of the royal circle, or an central aisle seat in the middle of the stalls are the best seats for Hamilton at the Victoria Palace and well worth paying for - i wouldnt sot where you cant see the balcony of the set

Edited

But so are the ones further along the same row, but coloured all dark blue. So confused! Think I'll just book 2 of those so I know what I'm getting!
