Sometimes I do question my sanity

I've posted about this before, but since DH died I've decided to say yes to every invitation. The last trip was with a group of runners I didn't know very well, but was brilliant we had a lovely really relaxed, comfortable trip (apart from having to do a marathon in the middle) and I'm really glad I went.

So, my next yes is taking me for 2 days to a stunning European city I've never visited, with 5 men younger than me. I know one of them a bit, one I've met twice and the others never. One of the unknowns is the organiser and so far he's doing an excellent job.

It will be fine again, right?

I am going to have to draw a line, people are starting to take the mickey, my most recent "invitation" is to climb KILIMANJARO 🤣

It's been a really worthwhile, enriching experiment though.

Pressuming you're a woman? How do you get these invitations? I'm a singleton and it sounds ideal.

I admire you @Trainbother!

Summerhillsquare · 03/05/2024 12:21

Yes WOMAN, you should write a book 😁

I'm involved in quite a few groups where's often a loose invitation around. A vague "anyone want to come to see xyz?"

I've found once you start saying yes to things people might not have considered you'd be interested in, people keep asking you. Also, when youre generally willing and available people think of you when they're trying to get a group together for things.

I've also organised quite few things and then I get reciprocal invitations.

I've been to classical concerts, sports matches, art classes, none of which I would have chosen, but all of which have definitely added something to my life.

What if the five men invite you to a sexy party?

Will you turn up on your Bunny Outfit and a tape player playing the Benny Hill music? 🤪

I want to know more about the things you’ve said yes to!

Beezknees · 04/05/2024 07:51

Keep doing them! Life is all about experiences in my opinion.

CapitanSandy · 04/05/2024 13:41

Well done you!
