Don’t know what I’m even hoping to achieve by posting on here but I’m so upset and need to vent.

I’ve worked full time since having my daughter now almost 3, and we haven’t had a holiday in about 5 years. I’m so so burnt out, exhausted and have been counting down the days to this week off. Next week we are due our first little holiday, nothing exciting, just 5 nights at Haven.

On Tuesday evening she came down with chicken pox and they are still appearing, there’s no chance they’re going to be scabbed over. I’m 28 weeks pregnant and even if we rearrange, we won’t be able to get away before the new baby arrives 😥
we were so desperate to have a holiday together to spend some time with our daughter.

I’m so upset at the thought of spending my only week of annual leave stuck in the house.

Anyone got any miracle stories or spots scabbing quickly?

It could be fine though, what day are you going next week? Could you go a day late if need be?

Have your rang haven to discuss if you could change the date for after babys arrival? I wouldn't think you'll be able to go as not all her spots will have healed unless it's at the end of next week.

We are due to go Mon-Fri… that is an option I suppose. I phoned and we basically have to decide today (3 days before arrival) if we want to rearrange/cancel.

The money isn’t really the issue, it’s just so disappointing :( we could go after the baby is born, it was just supposed to be our time together just the 3 of us

Definitely call today and rearrange for after the baby is here. If she's still coming out in spots she definitely won't be all scanned over by Monday.

It's sad that you won't get the holiday you planned as just the three of you but much better that you actually have a nice time and she will have a wonderful holiday albeit a bit later on and with her new sibling.

So we decided not to cancel/rearrange and hope for the best to go a day or 2 later… today 90% of the spots have scabbed (thank god for camomile lotion) and no new spots for a couple days, so we plan on going Tuesday night with the intention of being free on Wednesday!

She’s definitely got off lightly and hasn’t been remotely ill. Shitty timing but hopefully can enjoy a few days there 😊

Woohoo, great news! Well done on holding your nerve! 😆 I'm so pleased she wasn't poorly with it and got off lightly. Kids man....!
