Would you move to the more expensive flat?

Based on our income and point of life - mid 20s and no where near ready to settle down. Would you move to the more expensive rental? Trying to plan the next couple of years. We need to move flats.

Year 1: Take home is £7k a month.
Year 2: Take home is £12k a month.

Year 1: Rent would be £2,000 a month for a one bed. £2,750 a month for a two bed.
Year 2: Rent would be £2,100 a month for one bed and £2,750 a month for two bed.

One bed flat is too small for a proper desk. The two bed flat has a much shorter commute.

Would you move to a one bed or two bed in Year 1? or would you rent the one bed accepting you'd have to move again in a year.

The two bed would be big enough not to have to move for several years.

The £2750 flat would be a two year lease with no rent increase and the £2000 flat would be the same but a "special" rent increase of only 5%.

I think you’re insane to be renting if you have that kind of income!

Go for the two bed now. The rental prices seem very reasonable to me, but I live in London so very skewed - not sure I’d get a one bed for the price of your two bed!!
