Hi everyone,

my 1 year old son does not like potatoes in any shape or form, I have tried lumpy mash, hash browns, croquettes, jacket potatoes, chips and French fries. I have tried mixing carrot and swede also sweet potatoes and he likes none of them.

is this normal?

At one I wouldn’t bet against them being his favourite food next week!

don’t worry about it.

Yes it's normal.

Non lumpy mash? Waffles?

My friend's DD, and DS, never liked any form of potato and still don't, even in their 20's. Although I believe one now eats McDonald's chips!

Solidarity. My 2 yo also hates them, including chips (!)

Will happily eat waffles, but apart from that I have to give him a different carb.

Forget about them in that case and reintroduce in a few weeks

One of mine used to be like this but now at 6 she loves baked, roasted, hassleback and chipped tatties. Still hates mash but you can’t win ‘em all.

Mine is rapidly approaching 40s and still won't touch them, apart from an occasional chip.

Does anyone like lumpy mash?
