Earworm/mispronunciation - HELP!

Dear god I cannot rid my ears of this song and on top - mishearing one of the words!

Right - the song is Stick Season by Noah Kahan.

Please please please listen to the first ten seconds on this link - and tell me - does he not say "Soccer mom" in the song?

Well apparently he isnt saying "soccer mom" - he's saying "saw your mom" or "saw her mom"

I have repeatedly listened - i just cannot unhear "soccer mom"

I can hear a slight 'ck' sound now you've pointed it out but I still don't think it sounds like soccer mum - sorry!

I’ve listened to this song many many times and am have always sang “I saw your mom”… but I’ve just re-listened on Apple Music and it does in fact sound like Soccer Mom, which I have never noticed before!

Yes I thought it was soccer mom at first too.

I know what the lyrics are meant to be (the OP says it!) as I have looked it up -my question is whether other people can also hear the "ck/K" sound that to me and many others I have spoken to makes it sound like soccer mom!

😂 I have never heard the song before (but I do like it so will listen to more), and at first I wasn't sure what I was listening to, but yes, I can hear it now. I did burst out laughing when I heard it, as I am terrible for hearing wrong lyrics, and then they stick.
