When does being a mum actually get better?

I'm a FTM to an almost 4 month old and while I've had enjoyable moments here and there, for the most part I've found it both boring and stressful. Baby doesn't seem to like the pram or carrier so it's hard to get out and about and every day is just the same, sitting at home, feeding, changing and putting to sleep. People keep saying it'll get better but I have no idea when? I'm so tired and bored atm.

I think the 4 month sleep regression on my first might well have been my lowest ebb. Or maybe the silent reflux newborn bit. Both brutal.

I didn't like the baby bit (easier with the second as she would actually lie down and sleep). It has gotten steadily easier for me. Toddlers will try your patience like nothing else, but I'll take that over a non-talking, non-sleeping baby any day. Others love the baby bit.

It is so lovely once they can talk and you get a bit of an insight into their crazy, crazy minds (although you will often wish they would shut up for ten minutes).

You are in the trenches now.
