Appendicitis

If you have had this please could you share your symptoms? I've been awake all night and have convinced myself it's something serious but my midline pain is as bad as the pain on the right so I'm not sure. I am awaiting a 111 call back.

Are you throwing up?

No. I am nauseated but haven't vomited.

Dc had appendicitis many years ago. Started at belly button area and then moved to right hand side. Was constipated and very nauseous. Did the appendix walk according to the GP.

I just felt very uncomfortably bloated, then developed pain in my left shoulder. I was never writhing around in agony although when palpated I did swear and forcibly remove the doctors hand!

My DD had appendicitis recently, not sure if symptoms are different for adults though. She had;
loss of appetite
mild temperature
pain around her belly button and to the right
lethargic
flushed face
after a while she started to vomit

Unable to bear weight on right leg.

Your appendix can be in various positions. If it's retrocaecal the pain may not move to the right at all (mine didn't), and some other symptoms can be slight different and milder.

Do you have a temperature?

I Woke up with what felt like a sickness bug for a few hours and then it switched to the right side and felt like a constant stitch. Couldn’t stand upright at all, couldn’t sit comfortably and couldn’t lie down, had to keep walking around.

I just felt like I needed to go toilet but couldn't ... the pain got worse and had a temp of 41 by the time I got into the hospital. Then I just felt super poorly - couldn't walk as felt breathless etc and had to just lay there in pain until the op!

Pain on my right side but not that bad. I could only walk bent over though, straightening up was too painful. It also hurt a lot if someone poked that area. Mild fever, vomitting and totally off food and drink, fast heart rate. I don't remember feeling particularly unwell.

How are you doing now OP? Was it your appendix?

Apparently not. Inflammatory markers up and still in a lot of pain but they sent me home after 2 nights/3 days. I'm going to call the GP again in the morning.
