Fish tanks at dentists

I’ve been visiting the dentists a bit recently and the fish tanks are really upsetting me. Loads of beautiful fish, caged, swimming round aimlessly in a sea of plastic plants. I find it really upsetting.

How is it different to having a caged hamster? Which I also hate btw.

Should I say something? Before they start on me, obvs.

Caged??!!
Sorry, that made me laugh. Tanked yes, caged - not so much as water would fall through bars!

How is this different to any other pet?

It is not illegal and unless they are being mistreated then there’s nothing you can do about it.

I don’t think animals should be kept in small enclosures but these are captive animals that don’t know any different and you complaining isn’t going to achieve anything.
