Wedding present

I don't usually give money for a wedding present but my nephew is emigrating and needs money more than stuff!

What's the normal amount to give? I want to give something decent- and within reason money's not a problem. Usually i just choose something I want to give off the list.

If money is not an issue, I'd give £100. If that's too much, I'd give less, which would also be totally fine.

I usually give £50 but gave £100 to a niece marrying young so needing house set-up stuff.

Could you get the currency of the country they are moving to? Eg we went to a wedding where they were moving to Canada so I gave them Canadian dollars.

I usually gift £25 per person attending so if it’s me and DH I gift £50 if the kids are invited to I’d give £100!

That surprises me, @Favouritefruits. Do people regard the present as a kind of admission fee?

No I don’t think so, just my way of doing things ☺️
