Does anyone know this brand? (Highlighter)

Apologies for such a dull thread. I was going to post in the stationery topic, but felt I needed more traffic!

Thrilling I know, but I really need to find a replacement highlighter.

I don't recognise the brand. The pen has no other markings at all.

None of the usual suspects (stabilo etc) are 'right' (person highly suspected ND)

It would mean a lot to me to be able to get them an exact replacement.

i really would appreciate any help.

Have you tried a reverse image search in Google?

@Ilovemyshed

try as I might, I can't do that. The only reason I've read is that you can't do it on an iPhone. Does anyone know if that's right or not??

Is anyone able to reverse image the little logo??

Else I guess I'm going to have to buy other random ones to see if they feel & perform the same as the old one. Different markings is the first hurdle though 🙇🏻‍♀️

I reverse image searched the whole pen, plus the little logo, including a cleaned-up version, and including adding a description of the item or the text from the pen, and no dice. Sorry.

TheCoffeeNebula · 30/04/2024 16:48

I clicked no Grin

Ive seen these - they are either from a supermarket or poundland

TheCoffeeNebula · 30/04/2024 16:51

Tineye didn't find anything for the logo either.

DrJonesIpresume · 30/04/2024 16:52

They sell pen-shaped highlighters in Tesco. I bought a box of 4 different colours, including yellow, the other day.

PenguinLove1 · 30/04/2024 16:54

This is them - came up in a search for poundland highlighters

Well found Penguin! That text definitely looks right.

I wonder if they're still available — places like that tend to just buy in whatever's cheapest at the time, maybe add a bit of their own branding to it. Number of times I've found some perfect thing at a pound shop and never seen it again, or bought what I thought was the same thing but it was a different thing in the same packaging 😒

Plexie · 30/04/2024 16:59

Well done @PenguinLove1!

@PenguinLove1 As it happens I'll be near a Poundland tomorrow, so I'll have a look. I'll look in any supermarkets too.

I'm making my way through the thread, I should have read it all first!!

I'll pop in tomorrow & report back!

@TheCoffeeNebula

unfortunately you're right. But all I can do is try them. If they look the same hopefully I can convince her that hers was like that (whatever 'that' is, when it was new 🤷🏻‍♀️

we've had it a long time & it was 'perfect' still going strong, it got hidden under some paperwork without its lid on! We are filing it under 'accidents happen'

but yeah, poundlands not known for its consistency of supply!

@DrJonesIpresume thank you, if I can't get the 'original' I'll try anything, but she'll not be happy if it's not 'the one'.

It was no trouble, I'm having problems with my innards and sometimes have to spend long stretches sat in one place with not much to do, if you see what I mean Grin I'm glad someone was able to identify it for you, and fingers crossed you can still get hold of that exact model.

I've been here since almost the beginning & it's definitely changed beyond all recognition, but at the core it's still amazing!!

I'm sorry you've not been well, I hope it's not too serious & you're better soon.

Have you considered crochet?

OP posts:
TheCoffeeNebula · 30/04/2024 23:40

I'm fine, but thank you — just one of those occasional things!

I don't know what it is about knitting and crochet, but no matter how many times I try to learn, it just will not stick in my head. I can apparently learn all kind of things with incredible ease, such as every word to some random song I hate, but anything I want to learn? Impossible Grin
