We had builders at our house doing extensive work which involved putting in new radiators in every room.
I was 15 and trying to be super cool and grown up as some of the builders were really good looking (that was embarrassing enough looking back).
I was in my room one day when two of the builders knocked on my door and wanted to look at my radiator. I got out of the way and sat at my desk trying my best to be sophisticated and chat like an adult (while probably being annoying) and all was OK until one of the builders removed a thong -used- from the back of the radiator where I had obviously flung it at some point. To his credit, he said nothing and put in on my bed, but I remember wanting the ground to swallow me up. I spent the rest of the time they were at my house working doing my best to avoid them all as I was convinced I was a laughing stock.

Not hearing the neighbour knock at back door so she she looked through the window and knocked,.we were having sex behind an armchair so we wouldn't be seen from the front window.she never spoke to me for months,as I was 15:I was more worried she'd tell mum.

I started at the sixth form of the local comp after going to a private school for GCSEs. Trying to prove myself as cool instead of an awful stuck-up swat, I created a poster and hung it on the main notice board, advertising a made-up disco night at the local tennis club. I have no idea what possessed me to do this.

We didn't have much money as my mum and dad were in a bad crash. They lost their house, cars etc... both lost their jobs and were in hospital for 6 months, mum a year. You can imagine how skint we were

I had one boy who constantly called me a tramp as we had to move into a council house. It still sticks in my mind how it made me feel and how much my cheeks burnt when I went bright red.
Funny enough he's always pestering me on social media now for dates

This was the late 80s into the 90s. Mum and dad eventually got better and got jobs but they are both badly disabled even now
