Can't stop thinking of this kind lady

We were shopping earlier and a lovely woman from the Philippines stopped to say hello to me and my two daughters

She started to cry as she said she missed her children and mine are of a similar age
She won't see them for 3 years now (they are 2 and 6) it is very expensive to fly home

She paid for some small treats for my kids and came out after us to say goodbye

I made the stupid mistake of asking how often she can fly back, she can't

It will be three years until she sees them
I feel like it put my foot in it and it upset her when I asked this

You couldn't have known when you asked, don't beat yourself up.

My heart goes out for that lady though 😔 ❤️ Must be so tough.

You did a nice thing by letting her buy the treats for your girls.
Some people would have made a fuss and denied her of that pleasure.
I'm sure it made her happy to be allowed to do that, so take that away from your encounter with her today OP.
