What would you scratch off? The county or the place it self

I've been brought a map of the world that you can scratch off when you've been to the place, question is I can't decide what to scratch ? So as an example we've been to two places in france Calais and le havre
Would you scratch those 2 positions off or just the whole of France same for England there's been numerous places we've visited Cornwall Sheffield Lincolnshire London ect but not the whole of England

Oh and underneath the foil of the country it's not then broken down to places it just goes into a block colour
I really can't decide ?

I would scrape a tiny star, square or circle over the area or town that you visited. Maybe 1 icon for somewhere you'd be happy to go back to and a different one for a place that was underwhelming. Countries are big places and if you've seen one place, you certainly haven't seen it all

I scraped off countries on mine

I'd scratch the whole country. Less risk of scratching off the wrong part of the country. Plus countries like Luxembourg are tiny so it would be really hard to pinpoint the bits you visit.

For the US I'd just scratch off the area I'd been to. For places I'd travelled around a bit I would scratch the whole country. It looks neater to scratch the whole country but I couldn't bring myself to say one US state equalled the whole US.

So you go to New York and scratch off the whole of the USA?

We've been having the same debate so I'll wait for MN to settle it for us.

My DS has one, and scratches off whole countries. It's just a fun record of how many countries he's visited. If you just scratched off cities/towns/resorts that you'd been to, It's just going to be a series of little dots.

Depends on the country.

I did the US state by state as I planned several trips there. For Indonesia, I scratched off the whole country as I’m unlikely to go back as it was a once in a lifetime trip. Small countries (Belgium and the Netherlands) were also all scratched off as it was just too difficult to scratch off a city.

I see it as I have been to the country but I haven’t been to the whole country.

Me personally yes, with the exceptions of Hawaii and Alaska. For me they would warrant separate visits.
