Is it really all that?

What makes it "all that"?

I'm wondering if I should make the effort of finding it to watch.

I watched it for the first time recently, it's quite good if you like action movies. Alan Rickman is a perfectly evil villain.

It's not Shakespeare but it's fun, the plot develops nicely, the characters are solid if a bit formulaic and the dialogue works well.

It's the perfect Christmas movie. My favourite.

Yes - yes it is. Save it for December and enjoy. Bruce❤Alan❤

It's perfectly OK. I do my ironing to the the Die Hard films - passes the time admirably.

ScubaDivingSpiderMonkey · 28/04/2024 22:58

I love it. It's a quality action film. If you generally enjoy that genre you should enjoy Die Hard. Bruce Willis at his best, Alan Rickman being a splendid baddie.

Die Hard 2 is also good.
Die Hard 3 is watchable enough.
Do not watch any Die Hards after that though.

ScubaDivingSpiderMonkey · 28/04/2024 22:59

I'm not sure anyone has ever described it as 'all that' though. Put it on and if you're not enjoying it after 15 mins switch it off. Isn't that what people normally do?

Come on 4.0 is not the greatest although taking a helicopter out with a car is impressive, but 5 is easy on
the eyes😊

Alan Rickman. That is all.

Giggorata · 28/04/2024 23:16

As above 💜

You can't watch Die Hard in April. Are you singing carols around the tree too.

It is one of my favourite Christmas films and Alan Rickman is the cherry on top of the mince pie...

Redshoeblueshoe · 28/04/2024 23:17

As it's 36 years old, and repeated very, very regularly how have people missed it ?
