First ear piercing 14yo

DD wants her ears pierced, she's 14.
I know the only time she can do it in accordance with school rules about jewellery is at the start of the summer holidays. But we always go on holiday at the start of August (teacher, so not flexible on this), so if she had it done the day they break up (19th July), could she still go in the swimming pool?
The alternative is getting it done mid-Aug but it won't have healed in time for school?
What do people do?

What exactly are the school rules about piercings? In ours a single set is ok, but has to be covered with plasters for PE

She can swim with her ears pierced.

The only reason schools ask them to get taped up or removed is because they don't want to be held liable if they get knocked, caught or ripped.

I'm guessing the school rule is that they need to be taken out for PE?

As above, what are the school rules? Our secondary & primary are both happy for single lone piercings to be covered with a plaster/micropore. Fwiw though, I've swam (pool & sea) less than 7 days after piercings & never had an issue.

My daughter had her ears pierced a few weeks ago on a Friday, and was due to go swimming on the Monday. The guy who pierced them said it would be fine, just to make sure to keep up with normal twice daily care.

3 weeks in and they seem to be healing beautifully. They were pierced with a needle rather than a gun (which I understand to be the safer option) and we went to a an experienced piercer/tattoo artist.

Annoyingly I can't find anything about jewellery on the website!

Thank you, this is really reassuring to hear. Yes we will definitely go to a place that does it with a needle.
