Computer help - Cap lock logo coming on/ off

I have a HP laptop and google isn't helping when I hit the cap locks the little logo comes up. It is very annoying! I have googled but can't figure out how to get rid of it. I've had this laptop 3 years and this started a few days ago so I must have hit something.

Some sort of assistance setting?

I get as far as "Click on Screen configurations tab. " I can't see a screen configuration tab.

I clicked on 1, and box 2 pops up. I've gone through all the tabs there and can't find configurations.

Did you click through on Display Adaptor Properties? Or tried;

In the meantime, we suggest that you switch off the Toggle Keys option through Ease of Access:

1. Click on Start.
2. Open Settings.
3. Click on Ease of Access.
4. Select Keyboard tab.
5. On the right pane, switch off the Toggle Keys.

@NeverDropYourMooncup this is what comes up in Display Adaptor Properties, I can't see anything like screen configuration .

Snap! I have an HP and it started doing this yesterday.

I wonder if it's an update. This is my work laptop (they fully let me use it personally as well) I might call IT tomorrow it's wrecking my head!!!

It only started yesterday evening. I had been on my computer all day and it did run slowly a few times, so could well have been a download (although I must admit that it did cross my mind that the poor thing was tired and needed a rest!)

The IT guy logged in. He had to come back to me, he tried the above as well. He then disabled some HP settings but I don't know which ones.

Thanks - weirdly, it didn't happen at all yesterday, so I think "they" must have fixed the glitch, which I am grateful for as it was bloody annoying! Have a lovely day.

@misscockerspaniel mine seems to come back every time I restart my laptop. In case yours is the same. I am going to task manager and disabling 'HP System Event Utility'

It started doing it again this morning, when I touched the caps lock key. But when I logged out, the computer updated and hey presto, it seems to be fixed. Fingers crossed!
