My cycle is getting shorter and shorter each minth

My period started yesterday, 4 days early. It’s been less than 3 weeks since my last one finished, and my cycle now is around 21-22 days. I’ve had 2 periods this month. This is becoming a recurring pattern and I am getting fed up.

Normally I get sore boobs but I didn’t have any of that this week. I have been feeling really anxious this week though, much more than I usually do.

I am 30. Is this normal or could something more serious be going on?

Short cycle (luteal phase) can be a problem for conceiving. If you are looking to have kids, I’d go get some tests. Any major change in cycle is worth investigating anyway. Sorry you’re anxious! Could be nothing or just a few cycles out of whack but instead of worrying, get some GP advice.

I came on to say that this happened to me in peri menopause, but you’re too young for that.
I’d keep a period diary for 6 months and then see the GP, but you do need to address your anxiety, as that won’t help.

@DustyLee123 as in the anxiety won’t help irregular periods?

I do take anti depressants which 90% of the time keep me at a happy medium but then I go through phases of feeling really low/down and I figured this week it was because of my period looming/hormones.

Yes. And you need to take your AD’s 100% of the time.

@DustyLee123 I do, I take them every day at the same time. I meant sometimes they don’t work.

@SantaBarbaraMonica thanks, I didn’t know about the luteal phase. I use the flo app and it looks like they think my ovulation (for this period) ended 12 days before. But still, I do find my cycles have becoming shorter and shorter now for about a year.
