I just want to sleep :(

DH wanted to go to an event tonight, I wish I had put my foot down. But his parents came to sit with the children and we went. Baby fell asleep at 8 and of course stayed asleep until we came home and now is wide awake and probably will be until around 3, then the other one will be up at 6 and when will I get a break :(

Has he got tomorrow off? If so, you get up with the kids for an hour or two then go back to bed when he gets up and takes over.

He can’t, it’s completely shit.

How old is your baby?. Can you pop them in a bouncy chair or make a comfy space on the floor, lay down together & put something calm on the TV so you can snooze?

Can your partner have the children in the morning so you can go to bed? 6am when your older child gets up?

justletme · 28/04/2024 02:45

No, she just keeps trying to stand up and grabbing at me. I know it’s horrible but I’m sick to death of it now. He won’t @Winter2020 he’s had a load to drink. I’m so fed up, I’m just basically going to have literally no sleep.

If he can't/won't prioritise your sleep in the morning, then you both need to ensure that you get a chance to catch up tomorrow night. It's a difficult season OP, find what works for everyone's needs.

I hope you're asleep now OP.
In the morning you need to be having serious words with your partner about how much he drinks.
I used to love a party when my kids were little but we very, very rarely had overnight babysitters. We came home at 2am and got up with the kids at 5.30-6am more than once!!
If he 'can't' get up he needs to work out how much he can drink and still get up and stick to that in future (he can get up, he'll just be rough as arseholes and doesn't want to make the effort!)

Ugh, feel you! Of course the little one wakes up when you get back! Hope hubby helps soothe them, you deserve a rest!
