Alcohol and menstrual cycle - does anyone else notice this?

Does alcohol affect every woman differently at different points in their cycle?

I need to start tracking it properly but I definitely get drunk faster in the week leading up to ovulation, whereas when I'm pre-menstrual I can drink way more without it affecting me at all!

With you there. I've found, especially the day before my period when I've drank I've had little effect compared to what I'd usually feel. I actually realised a few years a go that I'd consume more if I was out while due on.

Tbh I'd always put it down to the 'I feel like shit so I'll eat/drink what I want'. But haven't put any thought into it beyond monthly gluttony 😅

Yes! I can drink a bottle of wine when I'm due on and notice very little effect. Tonight I've had one glass and I'm noticeably tipsy 🙄

I'm post-menopause now, and find my alcohol tolerance has increased. When I still menstruated I had the alcohol tolerance of a - well, no alcohol tolerance at all! And if I drank more than a glass or two of wine in an evening (or the equivalent), I would then sleep very badly. But from the moment I started feeling the aches that warned me I would be coming on in the next day or two, until 24-48h after my period had started, a glass or two of wine in the evening had me sleeping very well indeed. Not drunk, just good, deep, restful sleep. Without it, I would sleep really badly the first night or two of my period. But I can't say that I noticed my alcohol tolerance being any greater.
