Passport Damage

Hi,

I have some slight passport damage after essential oils spilt in a draw.

Is there somewhere I can take them to check if they are fit to travel before I spend hundreds replacing them?

thanks!

The airport? I wouldn't risk it though, the rules are strict and it only takes one jobsworth to ruin a holiday.

It's not worth the risk. And you can't say what a passport officer in another city is going to say or do.

My dh and I were once locked in a little airport prison because when we were transferring through dh had a coin in the pages of his passport so when he handed it over they said that he was trying to bribe the officer. He was refused entry but it was quicker for them to let us continue our onward journey than to send us back so that's what they did.

Of course that's not what's happened to you but just can't know what people are going to do in other countries.

You can't even have water damage on your UK passport never mind oil. The pages are not allowed to be stained as you could have removed a stamp or a visa.

I saw on insta that vicky pattison's dog chewed very slightly on her passport and she was refused by easy jet. Get a replacement.

You need to replace them.

Rubbish I thought as much! Thank you!

Another one for replacing… my DH didn’t realise his was water damaged, a customs officer in EU almost didn’t let him fly and said he would be very silly to risk it again.
