My two girls have gone on a weekend away with their father, for the 1st time in 10years I'm child free! I was so looking forward to this but I am bored and it's only 5 on a Friday!! I've painted their room so that has kept me busy all day but now feel like I should be doing something but not sure what 😅 money is an issue, as is friends or shall I say a lack of 🙈what the hell do I do now I'm free for the weekend 😅🙈

Crafting ? Read a book? Watch mindless telly with a glass of wine?

The world is your oyster!

Nice bath, bottle of wine, M&S dinner and snacks and favourite film.
Tomorrow mooch around local town, nice lunch and then repeat evening formula.
Sunday, turn out the study.. or possibly conservatory ( but that’s just me)
Just off to open my own bottle of wine, have a great weekend.

A nice tea, maybe something the girls moan at. If you enjoy a drink, maybe have a couple later on. Allow yourself to relax and 'me' time, maybe a bath, painting nails, read a book, watch tv/a film.

Ooo I would love this!
I would go on a charity shop crawl, just taking my sweet time and having a proper look at everything without the constant “I’m hungry/I’m bored/sibling breathed on me/can we go nooooooooow…”
Pick up my fave food whilst I’m in town, then back home to “just be” - pottering about, reading books (actual reading of actual books, as opposed to mindless scrolling onMumsnet 😬
That’s Day 1. Repeat as necessary 😉

I remember the first time I had a totally child free night (first one in about 15 years).

I put fresh bedding on, clean PJs, made myself some ribs, fluffed all my pillows up, and I lay in bed from about 6pm eating ribs and watching desperate housewives.

One of my fondest memories

midgetastic · 26/04/2024 17:42

Ah that first time alone ! It is hard and strange and quiet

Phone anyone who might be your friend and see if any respond ?

Plan some exercise

Favourite music up loud

Make a list of jobs that has been bothering you and do some of them

mynameiscalypso · 26/04/2024 17:49

I would just sleep and sleep and sleep.

Olika · 26/04/2024 17:57

I would take a nice bath/shower and then a glass of something in front of telly or a book.

Donut22 · 26/04/2024 20:32

Thanks ladies I've had a bath ordered a cheeky takeaway it's not to expensive ordering for one 😅 now watching a film. Just feels weird and very very quiet! I've dreamt of "me" time for years and it is very different to how I thought it would be bloody typical 🙈miss my girls 🩷

Glass of wine, takeaway and a good movie/box set! Then sleep in tomorrow, go for a walk or art exhibit or just for a coffee and mooch around the shops. Or stay in bed all day!
