Do you feel settled where you are? Help please

I feel so unsettled. Ive lived here for 30 years, its busy, lonely and no sense of community. God knows I've tried.
Not sure if this is depression and it will follow me where ever I go.

I used to live in a similar place OP. Very nice but no sense of community at all. I’ve now moved to a small city and love it. Much more going on and more of a sense of itself if that makes sense.

My worst experience was the one and only time I went dog sitting. It was on a large estate and I thought, I could be dead for days without anybody knowing. Now that was grim indeed!

@eggplant16 yep that’s just like where MIL lives, there is a lot of money swishing about in her area, prime commuter belt in to London. I have to say I wish you lived down the road as I think we would get on.

I met a mate for lunch in what is an ex pit village down the road and on the way home I went in to a big superstore not far away. It was community feel all round. I had a long chat to a young lass about going out clubbing who made my pizza for me, the woman on checkout was very friendly and then I met a veteran selling raffle tickets in his 90’s who was a flirty bugger and called me a mere slip of a girl, a woman offered me her trolley whilst joking . Plus man behind me in queue made a joke for everyone around about the wine he was buying.

It’s not somewhere many mnetters would like, the local secondary school is shite and it is a bit rough overall but it is the friendliest place ever.

Oh Bun! How to find other bodies in this leafy suburb. Its wearisome.
