He's 18 in June. And finishes college mid July.

Any idea when payments will stop

Thankyou. Do you know if it the same for CTC?

Sorry I don't know as I don't claim that. I only know CB as have an older child and dc2 is about to turn 18 and finish 6th form.

Interestingly, council tax single person exemption for 18 & 19 yo school leavers after 30 April doesn't end until 1 November.

Always was 2nd September, you could then apply for what was then income support in your own right, we used to be advised to do it before starting university... though as uc has a waiting period you can't do it now. It was the same after leaving university, you couldn't apply for benefits until September after graduation (assuming July graduation)

Tax credits is the same, 31 August

Oh! Does that include Housing benefit support too? Or just CT?

I'm referring to the single person 25% discount, rather than a paid benefit. So only helps if you are a single parent with no other over 18s in the household.

No idea about housing benefit.

For CTC, I seem to recall that I got it for ds1 until 31 Aug (as with child benefit) in the year he left 6th form. There may be a requirement for the post 16-18 leaver to be going on to further education for this?
