Just that really, and why?

mine really involved travel, im lucky I’ve been a good few places but there’s a whole host in hindsight I should’ve done pre kids, a) because they aren’t kid friendly/ kid centric type hols and b) for the cost.

borneo
safari
australia and nz
New York again
rome
may a European roadtrip
japan
mexico

just some idle conversations as I was pondering this at work earlier

I wish I just enjoyed small things more. Like getting ready and leaving the house without packing ten bags of suncream, snacks and spare clothes. Or coming in from work and just chilling out for a while without being moaned at to make dinner or having to rush back out the door to taxi them to swimming or brownies!

Had a sports car.

I've never been bothered about travelling.

Left my husband and had the kids with someone else. To be blunt.

Definitely travelling, living abroad, being more adventurous, reading more books...

I wish id worked part time before kids - my work life balance could have been great but it never crossed my mind til I had kids and needed to.

ALunchbox · 09/05/2024 21:26

Appreciating the ability to have lie ins more!

Oblomov24 · 09/05/2024 21:42

Can't think of anything. I had a ball and lived life to the full pre kids. And continue to do so, since having kids.

What are you going to do about it?

JLT24 · 09/05/2024 21:45

Can’t think of anything. I’m nearly 40 and having my first child. Travelled extensively, climbed the career ladder, became financially secure (as much as you can be), stopped lying in years ago as can’t sleep past 5am, have enjoyed every minute of chilling out, doing whatever I feel like etc. Time for a new challenge!!

PS I’m not naive I have been a childminder in the past and I would go to all of those places with kids (just probably not loads of kids 😂)

Definitely more holidays
