Best way to sell gold for best price

I have a solid gold ring I want to sell. It's British 18 carat and weighs 7g.
Local jeweller offered £250 which was more than I expected but then someone told me I'd get more in London (not far away)

Don't want to post it off anywhere. Please recommend a physical place I can take it to who will give me the best price.

(It's of no sentimental value and I can make better use of the cash right now!)

It’s about £40 per gram now so £280 ish is what you could expect to achieve.

£250 is pretty reasonable in that context and saves all the faff of travelling about and wasting time talking to loads of diff jewellers
