Hairdresser never said anything about allergy testing

I am due to get my first colour job at the weekend. I will be getting a balayage and I want to keep my roots free of bleach and dye. And maybe My hairdresser never said anything to me about an allergy test.

I really want to get my colour job done. I don't want to cancel.

I don't think I am allergic to anything but who knows and there's so much going wrong in my life, I am utterly fucking cursed.

Would I be ok taking an anti histamine and hour before my appointment as a just in case measure?

If you're worried ask them to pop in tomorrow to do a patch test

I don’t think you need one if the colour isn’t touching your roots but why don’t you message her and ask?

I became allergic to hair dye, I had used it for over a decade.

A decent hairdresser will always do an allergy test, it’s not worth the risk.

So the colour won't actually touch your skin? Can you not ring them tomorrow to double check if you need a patch test?

I doubt there will be any bleach or dye touching my skin.

I could ring tomorrow but I won't be able to go in tomorrow because of work.
